Artist Statement

For me, the creative act is a way of navigating and reshaping reality—a process that channels complex emotions and cognitive experiences into tangible form. Expressionism lies at the core of my practice, not only as a stylistic influence but as an essential form of art therapy. Living with neurodivergence, I find in art a necessary outlet to process and communicate feelings that are sometimes difficult to express. My hope is to create art that inspires, uplifts, and encourages my audience.

My most recent output exists at the intersection of physical and digital realms, a fusion I term “digital mixed media.” This process begins with the tactile creation of a painting, acrylic on canvas, embracing a style I call "abstract deconstructionism." Here, I focus on color as a means of deconstructing representation, allowing expression to flow unbound by form. Once the canvas is complete, I move to the digital realm, engaging in a secondary creative process that is both meditative and transformative.

Influenced by literary theory, my digital manipulations are reimaginings, using advanced filtering techniques in order to explore perception. This method draws attention to the fragility of meaning, asking viewers to question how they interpret what they see. Each piece, such as those in my Exploring Simulacra series, invites reflection on the blurred boundaries between reality and representation.

In embracing Derrida’s notion of meaning being constantly in flux and Baudrillard’s concept of simulacra, my work challenges conventional ideas of truth and authenticity. Through this layered process, I find solace and clarity. My art is both a deeply personal journey and an invitation for viewers to reconsider their own perceptions, standing as a testament to the evolving nature of reality in the digital age.
